The People Behind the Business
Decoright Ltd was founded in Dundee by Ben Dunn, growing from the spray-painting roots of Tayspray into a full-service spraying and decorating operation serving domestic and commercial clients across Scotland and Northern England.
After years of subcontracting and the impact of Covid on the industry, Ben decided to build his own business — offering a unique package of spraying and decorating expertise in the local area. What started as a specialist operation has grown into a team delivering everything from kitchen resprays and UPVC transformations to large-scale commercial projects across the country.
Repeat business is without doubt the biggest source of pride at Decoright. Being trusted time and again with clients' projects shows how much the team prides itself on the finish, every single time. Spraying technology has moved on enormously in recent years — Decoright's experience and commitment to consistently learning and investing in new equipment means it is recognised as one of a select number of businesses in Scotland able to provide these services.

DecoratorBen Millar is from Dundee and is now in his fourth and final year as an apprentice — a keen boxer and standing at around 6'5", he never needs a step ladder. Sean Mooney is a time-served painter from Arbroath who has been part of the team for over three years.

Ben is a long-standing supporter of rugby in Dundee and a former Convener of Dundee Rugby Juniors. Decoright are current shirt sponsors of Dundee Rugby Club — a community connection that is central to who we are. Ben still attends as many games as possible and loves trips to Scotstoun to see Glasgow Warriors and Murrayfield to watch Scotland.
Ben's Passions
Many of our clients will have met Buster — Ben's Working Cocker Spaniel. He's always happy, loves coming to work, and lives life through his nose. Buster trains weekly in Scent Work and Barnhunt and is highly motivated and friendly with every dog he meets. There's no doubt he's an essential part of the team and makes everyone smile.
After many years of coaching and being Convener of Dundee Rugby Juniors, Ben is now happy to be a supporter and sponsor — it's much easier! He still attends as many games as possible at Dundee Rugby and loves watching Scotland at Murrayfield.
Cooking is definitely something Ben loves at the weekends — especially at the BBQ grill with a nice glass of wine.
